cheesesteaks and risk management
this will be a brief entry... i have only 9 minutes left on this ONE computer in the hotel. basically, this is the jist... i have been in philly since yesterday. after being awake for over 36 hours, i finally got some sleep last night. as you might imagine, i didn't sleep at all the night before i left. plus i left my home for the airport at 3:30 am since my left left at 6am. i am very super-excited about what is yet to come. we have a wonderful group of 24 AgFo volunteers. it is so nice to be in a group of like-minded people who i know i do not need to explain myself to (i.e. why i am doing the Peac Corps). the past two days have been a general orientation about the policies of the PC and all the 'nuts and bolts' about what to expect upon arrival in TG (The Gambia). BTW - gotta' love all those government acronyms! we get pumped full of our vaccinations in the morning and then we fly tomorrow evening and arrive in Banjul on thursday. there the real training starts as we are interviewed for our potential site assignments. we have 10 weeks of intense training ahead of us. i will know more about the what all is going on later this week. alledgedly, we will have access to the phone and internet through next week, so i will write more introspective 'stuff' then. just want to wish everyone "hello" and that i'll be in touch as soon as i can. yay for The Gambia... yay for adventure! i am loving this!!!

Joining the PC wasn't the "wrong" decision. It was right for you. Stop trying to justify it to yourself or anyone else. Viva la vie boheme.
